Nativity Creativity

Hey, check it out! Our packing tape Nativity installation made the Gazette!

This was part of the December Artwalk, and my students put on an exhibit of not only the packing tape Nativity scene, but also a variety of pieces done throughout the first semester. It was a huge success-- we had a lot of visitors and people seemed to enjoy the art. They had a lot of great things to say about the other venues, as well! I didn't get to check them out, but I know that there are always lots of great things to see during Artwalk.

Maybe we'll do another artwalk in February -- remember, it's always the 3rd Thursday of each month, unless otherwise noted on the website. There will be no artwalk in January.

Oh, no! They used it? I hate being interviewed on TV. I'm glad the artwalk is getting some good publicity, though. It's really growing! Charleston is getting a pretty happenin' art scene!

I'd love to drive down and see the Artwalk sometime.

I love the way West Virginia is trying to promote the arts. Even here in lil ol' Buckhannon, I was thrilled when the venerable Home Hardware store went out of business, and art moved in. One section is an artist's workshop (grump - open when I'm at work), and another section is a new rubber stamping/scrapbooking/paper arts store, which I frequent. (Oddly, I was never interested in that kind of thing until I went in ... then my long-held fascination with papers of all kinds exploded.)

My New Year's resolution is to spend MUCH more time in my art studio. Forget weight loss. :)

Love the nativity. I only get the Sunday paper, so I didn't see the article, but I got to hear about it from THE gal on the inside! Thanks for sharing that here.

I missed you on tv?!?!

I knew there'd be a valid reason to be watching it sooner or later.

I think your nativity installation is fantastic!!!How creative. My friend Nik Botkin would love the use of packing tape to make your people...

That nativity is so cool! One of the things I love about your blog is you are getting to do what you truly love and it shows. Keep up the good work!
