Imagine Whirled Peace

September 21 is World Peace Day, and to celebrate, artists and students from all over the world will be participating in Pinwheels for Peace. In this installation art project (started in 2005 by two Art teachers, Ann Ayers and Ellen McMillan,) students create pinwheels with messages of peace, and on September 21, the pinwheels will be "planted" in the ground in public places. CCHS students will be participating, and if you'd like to participate, too, go right ahead. In Charleston - deliver your pinwheel to CCHS at 1033 Virginia St. E, Charleston WV 25301 (corner of Leon Sullivan and Virginia Streets.) Outside of Charleston, check the website to see if there's a group in your area. If not, start a group, or just plant your pinwheel wherever you please. Don't forget to take photos and send them to the website!
